Sene activists file police complaint in Hubli

Demand arrests of tiatr cast, producer and director

BELGAUM: Sri Ram Sene activists, who are up against Tousif Sheikh’s tiatr ‘Akantwadi Goeant Naka’, on Saturday filed a police complaint in Hubli, accusing the producer, director and actors of the tiatr, demanding their arrest on charges of maligning their image.
Hubli-Dharwad chief of the SRS Raghvendra Katare filed the complaint at the office of the DCP (crime) at Hubli, a copy of which is available with the Herald.
In the complaint, which has been addressed to the police commissioner, Katare has stated that Pramod Muthalik is a true patriot engaged in building up patriotism among the youth and is working to stop cow slaughter and has been conserving culture.
The police complaint stated that Muthalik is being maligned by Christian missionaries as well as the liquor and drug mafia lobby in Goa, as they are worried about the launch of the SRS office in Goa.
The complaint has been lodged based on advertisements of the tiatr posted on the Facebook and social media, besides posters that were pasted inside the compounds of some churches in Hubli and Dharwad.
Those named in the police complaint includes N S Music & Daisy, Valency Productions, Director Tousif de Navelim and others involved in organising the tiatr.
When contacted, the police commissioner of Hubli-Dharwad told Herald that he was yet to receive the complaint and added that necessary action would be initiated based on contents in the complaint.
