Stay sought on tiatr release

MARGAO: A Judicial Magistrate, Margao on Saturday heard arguments on the application filed by the Sri Ram Sene to stay the release of the Konkani tiatr `Akantvadi Goean Naka’.

The court is likely to issue notices to the tiatr director and other respondents mentioned in the application.
The Ram Sena had moved the court on Friday evening for a stay on the release of the tiatr on the grounds that no one has the right to defame the Ram Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik as a terrorist.
The application stated that Muthalik’s name figures on the tiatr poster and is the crux of the drama.
The poster terming Muthalik as `Akantwadi’ clearly aims at creating hatred against the Ram Sene chief in the society.
Saying that the poster shows a character at the centre which is wearing at “tilak” on head and wearing a saffron attire, the application further stated that all this not only arouses a clear suspicion that the tiatr may have dialogues and themes aimed at targeting Muthalik, but maligning his image as well.
