Senior Rane urges stringent action against drug mafia

PORVORIM: Pratapsingh Rane urged the State Government to take stringent action against drug mafia and deport the foreign national found in the drug business in the State.
Rane raised the issue on Friday on the floor of the House through calling attention. The Chief Minister, who holds the Home portfolio, said that he would be replying on Monday.
Rane said, “There is an urgent need to take action against drug mafia, such suspect persons are to be watched and sent out of the country”, he said.
“There are also people come from African countries, I won’t name the countries but they come as students and are found carrying out illegal activities. If they are found in drug peddling they should be sent back”, he added.
He said that it happens even in his Poriem constituency; one student was caught with drugs in past.
“We don’t want trash coming into Goa, they will spoil our youngsters. These people operate around higher secondary and schools”, Rane said.
