CALANGUTE: Joseph Sequeira on Sunday stated that he never meant to take on Calangute Parish Priest Fr Cypriano D’Silva over the incomplete road works near St Alex Church, Calangute.
Reacting to Herald report ‘Sequeira now trains gun on Calangute Parish Priest,’ Sequeira said, “How can I take on the Parish Priest who is the religious head of our Calangute village? I cannot blame the Parish Priest for the incomplete developmental works, but had only stated that Calangute MLA Michael Lobo failed to keep his assurance given to the Calangute Parish Priest before the feast of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception and we had dusty experience during Christmas, while roads are still incomplete.”
“The Parish Priest is in no way responsible for any incomplete development in the parish he works in, but it is the PWD which has to carry out road works for which the Calangute MLA has to be blamed,” stated Sequeira.
