In a serious road accident, two riders were severely injured when an SUV and a two-wheeler collided at Poraskade-Naibag in Pernem on Thursday evening. The collision occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. as the SUV was travelling towards Panaji via the Patradevi route, while the two-wheeler was headed to Patradevi via the Malpem route. The injured riders were promptly transported to the Mapusa District Hospital for medical attention.
Local residents have highlighted that this particular turn has become accident-prone due to the lack of proper signage to caution motorists. Pernem police have initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
