Shah denies Lokayukta offer

MARGAO: Justice Mohit Shah on Saturday denied receiving any offer to be the next Lokayukta of Goa.
Asked whether he has been approached by the government he said, “I haven’t received any such proposal from anyone.” He added, “I am anyways not supposed to disclose any such correspondence.”
Asked whether he will accept any such offer from the government he said, “Goa is a nice place, I would love to settle down in Goa. I won’t comment on whether I will or will not as I am yet to retire and the date is on September 8,” he said.
Commenting on demands for an independent High Court for Goa, he said, “There are less than 5000 cases in Goa which don’t meet the minimum requisition of the guidelines. Hence it won’t be necessary for Goa. Bombay HC in Goa gives an advantage to the State of getting good judges from other high courts,” he said.
