PANJIM: Union Minister Amit Shah’s meeting of the Goa BJP Core Committee on Sunday was cancelled after he decided to rush to New Delhi in the wake of massive flood in Uttarakhand due to glacier burst.

His visit to Goa Medical College and Hospital to know the well-being of his ministerial colleague Shripad Naik, where he is currently recuperating following horrific accident at Ankola last month, was also called off.
Shah had arrived in the State on a transit visit as he was scheduled to inaugurate a medical college in Sindhudurg, project backed by Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister Narayan Rane.
Shah, who landed at INS Hansa along with Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was received by Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho. Shah left for New Delhi soon thereafter.
Maharashtra Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, BJP Maharashtra President Chandrakant Dada Patil and Vidhan Parishad Leader of Opposition Pravin Darekar met Shripad Naik at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim and enquired about his health.
