PANJIM: Following the protests by villagers of Melauli, Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo on Monday said the Chief Minister must decide on IIT Goa project from Melauli saying “if people do not want it, shift it somewhere else”.

Lobo also stated that the BJP party president and Rajya Sabha MP also were of the opinion that the IIT Goa project must be shifted in wake of the protests.

“Even out party State President Sadanand Sheth Tanavade and Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar have expressed sentiment that the IIT Goa project must be relocated somewhere else,” Lobo informed.

He, however, said that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant is seized of the matter and will take a decision at the right time.
