While the entire strength of PSIs have been roped-in for election duties, the police station does not even have assistant sub inspectors for assisting any crucial investigations into any case.

Police are yet to make a breakthrough in the case and one team has already returned from Panvel, empty handed.
The police station, located on the national highway, recently registered attack on the house of Fr Bismarck Dias but the probe is on at snail’s pace, for obvious reasons.
The lone inspector Edwin Colaco has been left with meagre lower rank officials who do not have the powers to investigate serious offences.
A representation to the Collector by senior police officers, in the matter, has not yielded results yet.
