“Some ten years back, the Local devasthan had issued permission to install a mobile tower but later when villagers raised objection citing its effect on the health, the permissions were withdrawn. Now without informing the panchayat or the people, the Government has issued permission to the company to erect the tower next to the government primary school. Erection of tower close to the school will have a bad impact, especially on the health of the school-going children, said the locals.

“On Monday, I had come to the site and stopped the work because they were not having the required permissions. Also, we had submitted a representation to PWD with signatures of 75 villagers stating that they don’t want a tower in the village. Panchayat will issue a stop-work order and also submit a representation to ZP Member as well as local MLA against the tower,” Sirsaim Sarpanch Gokuldas Kandolkar said.
