In a disturbing discovery, skeletal remains of an unidentified individual were found in a secluded, bushy area at Esceirao Wado in Candolim on Saturday, triggering a police investigation.
The remains were spotted by locals beneath a cashew tree in a dense patch of vegetation, who immediately alerted authorities. A police team rushed to the scene and initiated a preliminary inquiry.

During the inspection, investigators also noticed a piece of cloth tied to a nearby branch, which they suspect could be linked to the circumstances surrounding the death.
The remains have been shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital mortuary for detailed forensic examination.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are working to establish the identity of the deceased, as well as determine the exact cause and circumstances of the death. Further investigation is underway.
