PANJIM: Tiatr ‘Sopnel’lim Sopnam… Devalim Danam’ written and directed by Fr Milagres Dias and presented by St Francis Xavier Club of Portais, Panjim, bagged the first place at the 4th ‘B’ group tiatr competition 2017-18 organized by Kala Academy, Panjim.
The tiatr also won the first prize for best direction and second prize for the best script. Madonna Fernandes won the first prize for best acting (female) and first place for best light effects by Prester Estibeiro.
The tiatr won the first prize for choral cantar singing, which included singers Saviola Gomes, Karen Pinto, Frederic Dias, Richard Noronha, Sanford Fernandes, Razia Da Costa Campos, Jeslyon Fernandes and Fr. Savio Fernandes.
Best Quartet prize went to Johann Rebello, Abigail D’Silva, Nathan Fernandes and Jason Couto. The first place for best lyrics went to Fr Dias.
Merit certificates were also awarded to the following artistes –Presley Rodrigues (acting-male), Ian Da Costa and Avinash Pinheiro (comedian-Males), Roma Pinherio (comedian-female), Johann Rebello (child artiste-male), Kate Pinto (child artiste-female), John Fernandes (stage setting), Guilhermina Vas e Rebello (singing-female), Johann Rebello (child singer-male), Johann Rebello and Tancia Pires (duet) and Ian Da Costa, Delju Simoes and Dominic Fernandes (trio).
