South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes has recommended 15-year-old for a bravery award, commending her courage and presence of mind during the violent armed dacoity that struck the minor’s family’s residence in Baina.
The MP visited the family following a hospital meeting with Sagar, who was injured during the attack. During his visit, Fernandes strongly criticised the government for what he described as an alarming rise in crime across the state.
Praising the minor’s quick action in alerting residents throughout the building as the armed assailants stormed their home, Fernandes said her timely response potentially prevented further harm. He added that her bravery deserved formal recognition and urged authorities to acknowledge her act.
Further investigations into the dacoity are underway.
