South Goa Shock: Newlywed Bride Accused of Assaulting Husband and Mother-in-Law Days After Marriage

In a shocking incident reported from South Goa, a newly married woman has allegedly assaulted her husband and mother-in-law just two days after their wedding. The matter has been reported at the Margao police station.

According to the victims, the marriage was an arranged one and had been finalised after detailed discussions held in August. However, they allege that the bride’s behaviour changed on the very day of the wedding, raising concerns soon after the ceremony.

Social activist and advocate Pratima Coutinho, who assisted the victims in filing a non-cognisable (NC) complaint, stated that the situation escalated two days later when the groom allegedly fled his home fearing for his safety. When the husband and his mother later went to confront the woman at her residence, they were allegedly assaulted by the bride and her sister.

Adv Coutinho further alleged that during the incident, the accused also smashed the rear glass of the victim’s car, causing financial loss. Police have taken note of the complaint, and further action is awaited.
