Speaker to settle NCP issue soon

The Speaker of Goa Assembly Pratapsing Rane is likely to decide in a day or two as to who will head NCP’s legislature wing and chief whip in Goa even as two NCP MLAs sought four weeks to file their replies.
While Benaulim MLA Mickky Pacheco was prompt to file his ‘say’ to the questionnaire given by the Speaker on Monday, Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza and Tourism Minister Nilkant Halarnkar, have both sought four weeks to file their replies.
Rane on Monday had asked all three NCP MLAs to submit their replies following the NCP’s High Command letter appointing Pacheco as the party’s new legislature wing leader and chief whip in Goa.
The move was intended to divest Jose Philip and Nilkant Halarnkar respectively of the above positions.
