PANJIM, OCT 13
Renowned installation artist Subodh Kerkar has filed a police complaint against Sanatan Saunstha for trying to create hatred amongst the religions on the occasion of Navaratri celebrations.
In a complaint filed before Panjim Police, Kerkar, who was earlier attacked Hindu organizations for his paintings, has said that the sanstha was disbursing pamplets and circulating CDs with objectionable material at durga puja festival.
Panjim police inspector Shivram Vaigankar confirmed about receiving the complaint from a group including Kerkar.
The complaint is also filed by Jawahar Barve, Vasant Bhat, Yadneshwar Nigalye and others stating that `sanstha was spitting venom against Muslim community.’
He has said that such an act can create communal disharmony in the peaceful state of Goa. Hindu Right wing organisations, recently, had began campaign against using disco music for dandiya and garba. The organizations had said that it is against the tradition and insult to the Goddess.
Few of the text messages cautioning Hindus about possible Love Jihad by Muslim boys under pretext of dandiya celebration were also circulated in the state.
Talking to Herald, Kerkar alleged that Sanatan Sanstha, in general, is not for Hinduism but intends to disturb communal harmony.
