PONDA: The gaurs have been wreaking havoc in Shetimal, Dharbandora region for the last few days causing panic among locals. A few days back, a local had tragically lost his life in an attack by bison at Shivde, Dharbandora.
Sometimes, these wild animals suddenly appear on the roads which pose grave danger to two-wheeler riders. The presence of gaurs is increasing especially on the road from Dharbandora to the village of Marad. This route is frequently used by children as well as students and the streetlights on this road have not been working for the past several months.
The locals have demanded that the Forest Department take measures to contain the bisons before another tragedy strikes.
