Summer Holidays Begin in Delhi Govt Schools on May 11, Special Sessions for Board Students to Run Till May 23

The Directorate of Education Delhi has announced that all government schools in Delhi will remain closed for summer vacation from May 11 to June 30. However, students of Classes 9, 10, and 12 will continue attending remedial classes from May 11 to May 23 to strengthen their academic performance and improve conceptual understanding.

According to an official circular issued by the education department, these special classes are intended to provide additional academic assistance, particularly to students who may need extra support in key subjects. The arrangement of the classes will depend on the availability of teachers and school infrastructure.

The remedial sessions will be conducted from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, while teachers assigned to the programme will remain on duty from 7:20 am until 11 am. Each class period will last one hour to ensure focused learning sessions during the summer break.

The circular also stated that in schools operating in double shifts, the remedial classes will be organised in separate wings to avoid disruption and ensure smooth functioning. The initiative reflects the Delhi government’s continued focus on improving learning outcomes and supporting board students ahead of the upcoming academic session.
