VASCO: Following India’s surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir; the retired defence personnel from Vasco have volunteered to rejoin the force if country requires them.
The announcement was made during a meeting organised by Vasco BJP Yuva Morcha in collaboration with Veteran Sailors Welfare Association, Goa, to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar for the action against Pakistan and to extend their support to the soldiers guarding the nation’s boundary along Pakistan.
Over 100 people including locals from Vasco, besides the members of Veteran Sailors Welfare Association as well as Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and MMC Chairperson Deepak Naik attended the congratulatory meeting which culminated after a rally in Vasco on Friday.
“The surgical strike was need of the hour as it was necessary to show Pakistan that India has all capabilities to retaliate against terrorism activity patronized by Pakistan. We all salute our PM and Defence Minister for taking the decision. We pledge our full support to the country to fight against terrorism and if required we will not hesitate to rejoin defence forces,” said Krishnan Sharan Singh, member Veteran Sailors Welfare Association.
