Surveying, mapping of encroachments on Serula Comunidade land from Dec 18

PANJIM: The process of surveying and mapping of encroachments carried out in the land belonging to the Comunidade of Serula will start from December 18.  

The Directorate of Settlement and Land Records, Panjim had constituted a team of four field surveyors  Shubam Gawas, Suraj Lotlikar, Dattaram Mandrekar and Vivek Bude to undertake the task so as to complete the work of surveying and mapping of the encroachments at the earliest. 

The team will prepare the plans in respect of the building foot print as well as the area in occupation of each of the encroacher by identifying his name along with the survey and sub-division. The Administrator of Comunidades, North Goa and the attorney of Comunidade of Serula have been asked to provide all support to the survey team.

Earlier this month, the High Court of Bombay at Goa had directed the Directorate of Survey and Land Records to carry out the survey to determine the status of encroachments, if any, on the Comunidade of Serula land and to file a detailed report to the North Goa Administrator of Comunidades, Mapusa, within eight months. The Administrator has been further asked to dispose the complaints within four months from the receipt of the report/s submitted by the Directorate of Survey and Land Records.

The Comunidade of Serula has deposited Rs 1 lakh to undertake survey work and will make further payments to the Directorate of Survey and Land Records as and when demanded.
