According to information, a complaint was lodged before the Kolhapur JMFC a week ago by Hemant Pawar and Manguesh Waghmare, who stated that the accused and his colleague from Belgaum struck a deal with them over property in Goa on August 31. The accused received Rs 10 lakh in cash, but later committed breach of trust and cheated the complainants.
A case was registered under Sections 420, 419, 468 read with Section 34 of IPC at Karvir Police Station in Kolhapur.
“As the complaint was directly lodged before the court, a direction was issued to us under Section 156 of CRPC (3) to investigate the case. After investigation, we decided to take custody of the accused. We have obtained a transfer warrant and will produce the accused person before the JMFC Kolhapur for remand. Further investigation still in progress,” said Ranaware N R, investigating officer and assistant Police Inspector of Karvir Police Station.
