Taleigao not to grant licence to projects sans garbage facility

In a bid to prevent the village’s garbage problem from going out of control, the Taleigao Gram Sabha today resolved not to grant any construction licence to the projects without proper garbage and sewage treatment facilities.
Henceforth, the projects will have to make proper arrangements for their garbage and sewage treatment.
The gram sabha also resolved that there would be no change to the Taleigao Outline Development Plan and as such all roads will be developed according to the ODP.
It was also resolved to fix the charges for the use of Taleigao community hall for weddings and other function.
It was decided that people from outside Taleigao would pay Rs 50,000 rent, locals (Taleigaocars) will pay Rs 25,000 and people of SC/ST/OBC would have to pay Rs 10,000.
The gram sabha also decided to plant trees along the new Miramar-Taleigao bypass road.
