PANJIM: After being hit by the Election Code of Conduct, the construction work of the 110-bedded tertiary cancer centre, in the Goa Medical College and Hospital premises will finally commence within fortnight.
Considered to be biggest in the Konkan region, the foundation stone for Rs 120 crore facility was laid on March 1. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months.
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday took to social media to announce that the construction work of the Cancer Centre will commence in next 15 days.
“The work was previously delayed due to the Election Code of Conduct,”he said.
