The Herald march that started at the turn of the last century still continues. It has never faltered, but kept step with the changing times, to grow and stay as the voice of Goa, fighting the battles of the people and for the people. Herald is the oldest newspaper in the State. It started out in 1900 as a Portuguese daily newspaper, and in 1983 was converted into an English daily. As it stands firm in its policy of being a people’s paper, the newspaper is now backed by various other publications, including the Marathi daily Dainik Herald, the Konkani weekly Amcho Avaz, the weekly magazine for children Junior Herald, a daily supplement Herald Café, a weekly pullout Herald Review and a fortnightly
pullout In Business.
