But outside IFFI, it’s police raj in Panjim city, with battalions of armed police everywhere, FTII student arrests at the inaugural itself, followed by the arrest of more than 100 Goans (peacefully demanding justice for Fr Bismarque Dias) on the second day, and Section 144 CrPC clamping down on citizens’ rights! Reminds one of the good old Nazi spectacles-like the Olympics-to hide the repression
Meldan D’Cunha: If you are taking on the establishment go the whole way, if you keep on shouting ‘We want justice or Long live Fr Bismarque’ your detention wouldn’t change but the impact would be 100 times more. Also the people gathered must take active part in the slogan shouting, this will put the police on the backfoot when they see the numbers.
