MARGAO: Margao witnessed a grand float parade on Sunday evening as thousands of people poured into the commercial capital to have a glimpse of the floats organised by the government appointed Margao Shigmotsav panel.
Thousands of people lined up along the entire parade route, right from the Holy Spirit square down to the Municipal square as colourful Romtamels and Chitra raths wend its way along the one kilometer route.
The Margao police made elaborate security and traffic arrangements for the smooth conduct of the parade. Around 300 policemen were deployed for security and traffic duties in the city as a precautionary measure.
