MARGAO: The Fatorda Police on Wednesday arrested three persons for fuel pilferage from a petroleum tanker.
According to the police, the accused have been arrested for fuel pilferage from a tanker belonging to a petrol pump at Quepem owned by Subhash Faldessai.
Accused have been identified as Dastagir Pathan from Zuarinagar in Sancoale, Rajendra Naik from Malbhat and Kripashankar Patel from Bogmalo. A fourth accused is absconding.
According to the pump owner, he had been receiving less amount of fuel on several occasions. He then kept a watch on the movement of the tanker and his employees. The tanker was noticed being parked on the Maruti Mandir road stretch and the accused were caught pilfering fuel.
A case of theft has been registered against the three arrested accused and the absconding accused.
