Mapusa: Total lockdown was witnessed in Bardez and Pernem Taluka on Friday. All the main markets of Mapusa, Calangute, Pernem remained closed while all the business operation in Bardez and Pernem remained shut.
With the sudden spike of COVID positive cases in Mapusa as well as in Pernem taluka, the residents strictly obeyed the lockdown.

During the first half of the day, only a few general stores were found opened. Few bikers and four-wheelers were also seen moving on the road. Commuters were stopped by the police and some motorists who were moving around, were directed to stay at home.
Police were also doing patrolling and were deployed at the main junctions/circles where they had erected road barricades.
