Four international agencies have bid for drafting Tourism Master Plan, which would be a vision document for development of tourism in Goa for at least 3 decades.

PANJIM: Four international agencies have bid for drafting Tourism Master Plan, which would be a vision document for development of tourism in Goa for at least 3 decades. The financial bids would be opened shortly and one agency would be assigned the task of preparing the plan within 10 to 15 days. 

The Tourism Department opened the techno-commercial bids wherein four agencies participated. They are Feedback Infra, KPMG, IL&FS and Deloitte.

“We are happy with the response,” said Director Nikhil Desai, adding that the 4 companies are well known and have bid along with highly qualified consortium partners.

The bids will be placed before the committee which will select the agency for doing up the Master Plan.

The process for selecting a consultant for Brand Goa is also on. While in the past tourism master plans have been prepared for Goa, the latest exercise aims at drawing a road map for Goa tourism for a period of at least three decades.

The agency will have the responsibility of not only preparing the tourism master plan but also ensuring execution of its recommendations.
