Tourists saved from drowning

Three tourists including a Russian couple were saved, while a 25-year-old Russian national was injured in three separate incidents at Dudhsagar waterfall, Sinquerim and Ashwem beaches on Wednesday.

PANJIM: Three tourists including a Russian couple were saved, while a 25-year-old Russian national was injured in three separate incidents at Dudhsagar waterfall, Sinquerim and Ashwem beaches on Wednesday.

According to reports, lifeguards rescued Raj Ratan Singh (26) from Vadodara-Gujarat, who had jumped in deep water and found himself in trouble at Dudhsagar waterfall.

At Sinquerim beach, Ava Evceeva (25) from Russia, who was playing on the beach, fell down and dislocated her hand. 

At Ashwem Beach, Annex Ankin  and his wife, Nidia  from Russia were swimming in a non-swim zone despite lifeguards’ advice to stay closer to the shore. Suddenly, the couple got pulled by rip current. Lifeguards rushed to their aid and brought to the shore safely.
