Traffic chaos as iron pellets mistaken for gold on Margao bypass

On Sunday morning, many people along the Margao western bypass, especially near Nuvem-Verna, got excited when they saw shiny pellets on the road.

Word spread that “gold pellets” had fallen from a passing vehicle, causing motorists, residents, and tourists to stop their cars and rush to collect the shiny pieces. This sudden frenzy led to heavy traffic jams on the busy bypass. However, the excitement faded once everyone realised the pellets were simply iron.
