CANACONA: Despite clearing around 50 trees that were on the verge of uprooting and posed threat to vehicular traffic, between Polem to Gulem in Canacona, trees getting uprooted and blocking vehicular traffic on National Highway are a regular feature in the taluka.
As per the information provided by the fire office at Canacona a medium-sized Akashi tree came crashing down on Wednesday afternoon due to gusty winds on the National Highway near Parshuram temple near Poinguinim.
The fire office received a call at 2 pm and it took nearly three hours for the emergency services team to clear the tree and restore normal flow of traffic.
