Truck driver nabbed for embezzling steel angles

MARGAO, JAN 21 The Cuncolim police have finally nabbed the vehicle driver, who was involved in misappropriating steel angles worth Rs 5.71 lakh last year.

The Cuncolim police have finally nabbed the vehicle driver, who was involved in misappropriating steel angles worth Rs 5.71 lakh last year.
The police arrested Mohammad Ismail (34), a resident of Mangalore-Karnataka, who has allegedly confessed of the commission of the offence.
Cuncolim PI Sidhant Shirodkar said the accused has stated that he had dumped the entire property at Brahmavar. The Brahmavar Police Station at Udupi has recovered part of the misappropriated found abandoned in its jurisdiction.
In this case, the general manager of Rukmini Rama Steel Rolling Mill complained to the Cuncolim police that on September  29, 2008 at 3.10 am, the unknown driver of a truck loaded steel angles from the mill located at the Cuncolim Industrial Estate for delivery at Mangalore.
The vehicle never reached to the consignee and hence the police had registered a case of misappropriation against the vehicle driver.
