The delegation led by Association President Franky Gomes demanded equal treatment and payment of equal rates for all the truck owners. The Fatorda MLA later spoke to the South Goa district Collector, Dr Sachin Shinde who has now fixed a meeting with the beleaguered truck owners on Friday. “We can understand if the local truck owners gets some concession, but certainly it is a matter of concern if truck owners from Usgao and Ponda gets preference over the Salcete truck owners,” Sardesai added.
Truckers meet Vijai
MARGAO: Salcete Truck owners on Thursday called on Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai with a plea to solve the discrimination meted out to the truck owners at the Naqueri bauxite mining site. The delegation also impressed upon the MLA that many trucks from areas of Usgao and Ponda are doing business at the cost of the truck owners from Salcete.
