PANJIM: The school-going twin sisters from Goa, who were booked for posting content hurting religious sentiments recently, have been summoned to the Crime Branch.

The sisters were on booked on April 19, by the Crime Branch, for allegedly posting sensitive content on a social media platform and hurting religious sentiments.
The Crime Branch had registered an offence and is investigating the case. The incident came to light after a Twitter handle posted screen shots of the posts on Instagram that were hurting religious sentiments and tagged the Director General of Police (DGP), Superintendent of Police (SP) North Goa and Superintendent of Police (SP) South Goa.
Twin sisters who allegedly made the religiously derogatory Instagram posts have been summoned under Section CrPC 41(A) by Crime Branch. FIR under Section 153-A read with section 34 IPC and section 67 of IT Act was registered by Crime Branch.
Section 153-A of IPC deals with offences related to hurting religious sentiments and is liable to be punished with imprisonment.
