PERNEM: Pernem Police arrested two Himachal Pradesh natives for allegedly possessing drugs at Arambol.
According to Pernem Police Station Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, they were tipped off that an owner and worker of a shack in Arambol are involved in drug peddling.

Accordingly, a raiding team led by PI Dalvi laid a trap at the shack posing as customers and raided the shack at around 4.25 pm. Subsequently, the two alleged accused persons identified as Vikas Ranjit Singh (42) and Mahendra Shersingh Thakur (25) both native of Himachal Pradesh were caught with possession of substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 10,000 and charas worth Rs 10,000.
It is learnt that accused Vikas had taken the shack on lease from a local and was running it while another accused Mahendra was the worker.
The police have booked a case under Section 20(B)(II)(A)of NDPS Act.
Further, PI Dalvi informed that the letters have been sent to the Tourism and Excise Departments for cancellation of the tourism and Excise licences of the shack.
