Thackeray will meet rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar regarding the possibility of an alliance with the newly formed Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM).
“Thackeray will arrive in the State on Saturday morning. He will pay tributes at the Samadhi of Goa’s first chief minister Dayanand Bandodkar and then address a worker’s convention in Porvorim,” State Shiv Sena Chief Sudip Tamankar said.
In the afternoon, Thackeray will meet Velingkar. “Preliminary discussions on alliance will be held during the meeting. Details on seat-sharing would be discussed later,” Tamankar said.
GSM has made known its desire to align with Shiv Sena for the polls and Shiv Sena has submitted a proposal to GSM asking for 20 of the 40 seats.
Shiv Sena had contested the 2012 State Assembly elections but had failed to win even a single seat.
