Residents of Venkatesh Chambers in Curchorem are urging local MLA Cabral to expedite the completion of the ongoing sewage treatment plant due to the persistent sewage water stagnation that has plagued the building. With 36 flats and several shops in the complex, the lack of a functional sewage disposal system has led to wastewater overflowing into private properties, creating unhygienic conditions for all occupants. The situation is becoming increasingly difficult as health concerns grow, especially with the water stagnation worsening sanitary conditions.

The local health department has already issued multiple notices in response to a formal complaint lodged by one of the residents, putting further pressure on the residents to find a solution. Currently, the wastewater is not being absorbed by the existing land, leaving the only option as the garbage treatment plant, which is still under construction. If the plant is completed before the monsoon season, it could help resolve the issue. However, if the plant remains incomplete, the residents will face significant problems, especially with heavy rainfall exacerbating sewage overflow.
