PONDA: The Mhadei River from Ganjem Usgao was breached on its bank for a second time this week affecting the normal life of people living in low lying areas near the banks. The road between Usgao to Valpoi via Ganjem remained closed for traffic as it was submerged in water for the past few days.
The road from Tiral to Panchwada remained inundated forcing Ponda fire personnel use rescue boat for villagers to travel at safer places.
The low lying areas from Verenkar Crusher to Ambeshi Bridge also remained submerged.
The Primary School in the area was given holiday. The locals helped the students return home safely from the flood affected areas. The locals at Meditembi, Zarichwada, Takwada and Keliwada were also affected.
