VASCO: The exit point of the Kadamba bus terminal in Vasco will be closed and barricaded for all vehicular traffic, however, vehicles would be allowed to enter and exit through entry point.
This arrangement would remain in place till the ongoing work of new ultra modern transport hub and administrative building is completed, informed KTC Chairman Carlos Almeida.
Almeida was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a joint inspection held at KTC bus terminal in Vasco, on Friday. Officials of Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation, MMC Chairperson Deepak Naik, Councillor Nandadeep Raut and other were present during the inspection.
As passenger bus traffic would continue to operate from the KTC terminal in Vasco during the construction of ultra modern transport hub and administrative building, Almeida asked the officials to ensure that the people using the bus stand do not face inconvenience during the ongoing project work.
“We know that the people would face hardships, but the project is also important as the same would be benefiting them. So we have asked the project contractor to take up the work in different phases. We have asked him to complete the administrative building and KTC depot building, first. Since the facility is being constructed near the present exit point, we have decided to close the same and to use the present entry point for exit of vehicles,” Almeida told Herald.
