VASCO: Several locals from Vasco along with Parish Priest of St Andrew Church Fr Gabriel Coutinho confronted Health Officer of Chicalim Hospital over a death of youth due to dengue, on Wednesday.
The aggrieved locals demanded action on those responsible for the death of a youth from Vollant, who passed away last month when undergoing medical treatment at Chicalim Hospital.
As per reliable source, the aggrieved locals along with Fr Gabriel confronted Health Officer of Chicalim Hospital Dr Rajendra Borkar and questioned him as to why no inquiry has been initiated against the medical staff responsible for providing lackadaisical attention to the youth, who died due to Dengue last month at the hospital.
“The locals raised several issues such as staff shortage, lackadaisical approach of the medical staff towards patients and opined that there need to be a positive change and improved services and demanded an inquiry against the medical staff,” the source further added.
“Dr Borkar, who was at the receiving end of the wrath, listening to the complaints and demands made by the locals, assured them to put forward this issue before his higher ups,” source added.
