Vijai Sardesai Flags Confusion Over Wedding Music Timings, Seeks CM’s Clarification

GFP President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has raised concerns over conflicting statements on permissible wedding music timings, following remarks by the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) chairperson that wedding music must stop by 10 pm.

Sardesai pointed out that the statement contradicts an earlier assurance given by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the Goa Legislative Assembly, where music at weddings was permitted until midnight. Terming the mixed messaging as confusing and problematic, the Goa Forward Party (GFP) warned that such contradictions could lead to unnecessary harassment of the public.

The party has urged the Chief Minister to immediately clarify the official policy on wedding music timings and issue clear directions to enforcement agencies, ensuring consistency and preventing inconvenience to citizens during wedding celebrations.
