Vijai Sardesai has criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party government over the repeated cancellation of the NEET Examination, alleging that the future of students is being jeopardised.
Reacting to the latest developments surrounding the medical entrance examination, Sardesai claimed that this was the third time the NEET exam had been cancelled and expressed support for calls to scrap the current system and restore the previous admission model.
Taking a dig at the Centre’s “One Nation, One Exam” concept, Sardesai remarked that it had now turned into “One Nation, One Re-Exam.” He alleged that merit no longer holds value under the BJP-led government.
The Goa Forward leader further stated that if authorities are unable to conduct fair examinations, they should adopt advanced technology and artificial intelligence-based systems to ensure transparency and prevent irregularities.
According to Sardesai, nearly 22 lakh students across the country have been affected due to the cancellation of the examination, resulting in crores of rupees being wasted by students and parents.
He also alleged that the BJP government had allowed a “mafia raj” to emerge in the education sector, raising concerns over the integrity and credibility of competitive examinations in the country.
