Lashing out at people opposing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) — he wants to introduce in new district hospital in Mapusa — Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said there will be no increase in the cost of services provided at Asilo Hospital even though if it is run on PPP mode.
He was speaking at a press conference on Thursday afternoon and alleged that some have been spreading a false propaganda about the government’s intensions of having private players to help run government hospital.
The government intends to provide maximum relief and quality service by introducing PPP in the new hospital which, he said, will be commissioned by March end.
He said, integrated model will be in place by mid-march — existing staff of the Asilo will continue as also more staff has been sanctioned for the new hospital, allying the fears that new hospital will be handed over to a private party.
He said, the model of operation of new hospital will be as same as that of GMC.
“Registration fee applicable for GMC will be made applicable for the new hospital, as also medicines will be given free there as in GMC,” said Rane adding the government intends to make it the best hospital of North Goa.
