Vishwajit Rane Orders Inquiry Into Four-Hour Power Outage at Mapusa District Hospital

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has directed the Secretary (Health) to conduct an inquiry into the four-hour power outage reported at Mapusa District Hospital.

Speaking on the issue, Rane said the inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the reasons behind the prolonged disruption and to identify any shortcomings in the hospital’s systems and procedures.

The Health Minister stated that once the inquiry is completed, the department will be in a position to determine the exact cause of the incident and understand what internal issues may have contributed to the power failure.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted power supply at healthcare facilities, particularly at hospitals where essential medical services depend on continuous electricity.

The findings of the inquiry are expected to help the Health Department take corrective measures and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
