PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Goa would team up with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the elections as the party leader Sharad Pawar has ties with BJP.
Speaking to the media, AAP leader Dr Oscar Rebello said Pawar has shown willingness to join hands with BJP in Maharashtra which indicates the close links between the two parties. “Voting for NCP in Goa would be like voting for BJP as they will go with the saffron party,” Rebello said. Refering to the ‘Padmavibhishan’ announced to Pawar, he said it is given to the people who are close to the government at the Centre.
Rebello said that AAP will bring change to Goa and would be firm in delivering all promises made in the manifesto.
He said that framing the Regional Plan will be the priority, and so too keeping intact khazan land, farmland and forests. He added that the party will withdraw the controversial amendment to Agricultural Tenancy Act and give back the ‘coconut tree’ its status as tree within three days of coming to power.
Rebello said an AAP government will also pursue a well-thought out heritage policy which will work to convert heritage buildings to museums and monuments. He said an AAP government will also work to provide affordable loans for repair and maintenance of heritage houses.
