South Goa Police has set up dedicated cybercrime cells at every police station and a district-level cyber cell too in order to speed up action against online frauds. Police have urged citizens who fall victim to cyber fraud to immediately call the 1930 helpline, saying prompt reporting can help freeze fraudulent funds and facilitate investigation. Officials also advised people to report attempted fraud, even if no money was lost. Police said complaints are received daily, and cases involving losses of more than rupees 1 lakh in Goa automatically lead to registration of an FIR.
