PONDA: The locals from Undir-Bandora, including the elderly women, on Wednesday, protested at the PWD office in Daag-Ponda, over a year-long water crisis.

They complained about insufficient water supply, especially during night-time, which caused inconvenience and disrupted their daily routines.

It may be recalled that the locals had previously protested six months ago, but the issue remained unresolved.

They urged the authorities to fix the problem before the Ganesh Chaturthi and claimed that the damage caused to the underground water pipeline was due to road digging for sewerage network and for laying underground power cables.

PWD AE Yashwant Mapari said he had already inspected the site at Undir and few houses have been affected. Acknowledging the issue, he promised to resolve it within a few days by providing water through newly installed lines.
