Ramu’s dreams are quite sporty these days. One day he dreamt that some of the world’s best football players were standing in line in Goa to join a local team ‘Winston Churchill Brothers’ named after the legendary British Prime Minister.
Excited Ramu went to the tinto to find out more. He learnt that the patron of wCB had just announced a major upgradation of the club, and its facilities and had a nice budget to get the best footballers in the world.
There was another news. The patron was also planning to contest elections for the people. Undoubtedly, he would get a lot of backing and moolah for this just cause, including from his peers, who would like him to get substantial support. In the end, everyone would be happy.
The news of WCB and his major plans reached all over the world. Messi left his current club in the USA and flew straight to Goa, Ronaldo was in Saudi Arabia and reached Goa in four hours. Mbappe was in France and hopped onto a flight and landed at the same time Messi did.
All of them rushed to the beautiful South Goa coastal village to stand in queue near the ground, for their trials and physical test where they would have to run around the Dando ground.
Then they met the patrao who said he was happy that they applied to join WCB and told them that they were selected but they better perform on the Fatorda ground and Dando too, since this was a very tough local league.
The whole village rejoiced. The footballers also agreed to campaign for the patrao during his elections, by playing exhibition matches where crowds would gather and the patrao would give a speech after the game.
Ramu was happy. There was such a great chemistry between football and politics. Life couldn’t be better.
