Nitish Kumar has resigned from his position as Chief Minister of Bihar after dissolving his cabinet following its final meeting in Patna. His resignation marks a major political transition in the state after nearly two decades of leadership.
In a key development, Samrat Choudhary was elected as the BJP legislative party leader during a meeting held in Patna on Tuesday. This decision was taken during the NDA meeting held at 4 PM in the Central Hall of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, paving the way for him to assume the role of the next Chief Minister.
Reports suggest that the oath-taking ceremony for the new government is likely to take place tomorrow. The NDA leadership meeting finalized the transition plan, with most current ministers expected to continue in the new cabinet with only minor reshuffles.
Earlier in the day, the BJP legislative party meeting was held at 3 PM at the party office under the supervision of central observers. Following this, the NDA meeting formally confirmed the leadership change.
Nitish Kumar has now moved to Delhi after being elected to the Rajya Sabha, marking a new phase in his political career. Despite stepping down, leaders from his party stated that he will continue to guide Bihar’s development policies.
